Safeguarding Policy
(Adult, Child and Vulnerable Adult
Protection Policy)
Shrewsbury Homes for All (SHFA) believes that it is always unacceptable for an adult, child, young person or vulnerable adult to experience abuse of any kind and recognises its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all adults, children, young people, and vulnerable adults by a commitment to practice which protects them.
We recognise that:
- The welfare of the adult/child/young person/vulnerable adult is paramount.
- All adults, children, young people and vulnerable adults have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.
The purpose of the policy is:
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of adults, children, young people and vulnerable adults who receive SHFA’s services.
- To provide staff and volunteers with guidance on procedures to follow when they suspect an adult, child, young person or vulnerable adult may be experiencing, or be at risk of harm.
This also policy applies to all staff, trustees, and volunteers, or anyone working on behalf of SHFA. It is the duty of everybody within the organisation to uphold it.
We will endeavour to safeguard adults, children, young people and vulnerable adults by:
- Valuing them, listening to and respecting them.
- Rigorous adherence to Shropshire’s Safeguarding Children Board, Safeguarding Children Procedures – West Midlands Safeguarding Children Procedures https://westmidlands.procedures.org.uk/ and Keeping Adults Safe in Shropshire Board Multi-Agency Procedures – West Midlands Regional Adult Safeguarding Multi-Agency Procedures https://www.safeguardingwarwickshire.co.uk/wmadultdocs
